Dr. Roy Jackson
Dr. Roy Jackson is a highly regarded gynaecological surgeon with experience in the biotechnology industry as a business executive. He completed his medical school training in South Africa (University of the Witwatersrand ) and then a specialty Residency in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver Canada.
In 1994 he entered private practice as a Gynaecologist. He has worked at several hospitals. Currently he is on Staff at Peace Arch Hospital and Delta Hospital in British Columbia. He is also Medical Director of Southern Health Centre and Head of Gynaecological Services at False Creek Surgical Centre.
In 1996 he founded Romich Medical, a healthcare device and equipment company dedicated to the research, sales, marketing and distribution of innovative medical devices. Since its inception, Romich Medical has worked with both large and small medical device companies including Johnson & Johnson, Wallsten Medical, Conceptus and LifeBank.
Dr. Jackson has applied his expertise to a variety of the company’s endeavours, including: serving as Principal Investigator, establishing sites for studies, engaging key opinion leaders, presenting research results at international medical meetings, establishing a national Canadian distributor, presenting to VCs and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter on various opportunities; and working with a Private Equity Firm to secure investment financing.
In 2003, Dr. Jackson oversaw the creation of a “medical and health” commercial real estate division called Romich Holdings. Here Romich acquires mixed use commercial buildings and anchors them with health centres/medical clinics. Three projects of this nature are completed and fully operational.
More recently Dr Jackson has been active in co-founding a premier electronic networked medical information system, “Doyen Medical Inc.”
