Gynaecological Surgery at Peace Arch Hospital
I am pleased to inform you that on August 30th 2016 Dr Neeraj Mehra will be doing advanced gynaecological laparoscopic surgery at Peace Arch Hospital as a visiting surgeon.
He will be working with me as part of a collaborative effort to provide premier quality surgical care to the women in our community.
The Gynaecologists at PAH have for some time offered a robust minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery program including laparoscopic hysterectomy.
Dr Mehra completed his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Queen’s University in 2010. He then completed two fellowships at the University of Ottawa. First in advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) in Gynecology and a second fellowship in Simulation and Medical Education. His current clinical practice is focused primarily on MIS cases in gynecology including advanced laparoscopy (endometriosis, fibroids, adnexal masses) as well as operative hysteroscopy. He is also actively engaged in surgical education in MIS for both residents and clinical faculty. Dr. Mehra is a leader in obstetrical simulation at BC Women’s Hospital where he serves as the Medical Director for Simulation. His academic interests included a wide range of educational and research activities in obstetrical simulation, surgical education, and patient safety.
This kind of initiative represents ongoing collaboration between Peace Arch Hospital (Fraser Health) and UBC (Vancouver Coastal Health) where Dr Mehra works.
Thank you
Dr Roy Jackson
