The research division of the White Rock-based Southern Health Centre collects, catalogues, and analyzes data in order to provide healthcare providers with the evidence needed to attain excellence in patient care.

To make this happen, the research division integrates clinical care with evaluative studies in multidisciplinary fields in order to holistically assess uncertainties in current treatment methods and to address these uncertainties with innovative solutions.

Current research focuses on evaluating new medical fibroid treatments through a partnership with Southern Health Centre’s recently-opened Fibroid Care Clinic.

Other recent projects include developing new formulas for triaging fibroid referrals and new algorithms for treatment courses, all with the aim to optimize the flow of services from diagnosis to treatment and decrease wait times.
